Highlights from the past quarter

Exceeding our growth targets
We've had an exceptionally strong start to the year, outpacing both our growth and revenue targets. This past quarter, we kicked off four new projects, bringing our active portfolio to 10 partnerships, each with autonomous teams owning discovery and delivery for both growth-stage scaleups and early-stage startups. Our team has grown to 93 people.
The majority of our growth has come from deepening our work with scaleup clients that have raised hundreds of millions in funding, where we now embed multiple teams of 15+ people. Our focus remains on serving these types of clients and prioritizing quality over quantity.
This growth reflects a broader shift. After nearly two years of decline, software engineering job postings have sharply reversed course, rising rapidly since mid-2025, even as overall job listings remain flat. The reason is counterintuitive but simple: AI is expanding what companies believe they can build and automate, and that ambition is creating more demand for skilled engineers, not less. Prototyping gets you only so far; production software still needs real teams, and we are seeing this play out in real time on the ground.

First MVP built using only AI, delivered in record time
This quarter, we built a complex MVP in the sports medicine sector serving clubs, athletes, medical teams, and external doctors, delivered in just four weeks and under $30,000.
We challenged ourselves to scope, design, and deliver the entire product using an AI-only tool stack, and the results exceeded even our own expectations. This is an application that would have required, in the past, a large engineering team and several months to complete. By leveraging AI across the full development lifecycle, we accomplished it in a fraction of the time and at a fraction of the cost, enabling a business to form around a niche idea with a limited budget in a way that simply wasn't possible before.
We expect this trend to accelerate.

Update on our end-to-end agentic AI discovery & delivery workflow
Our AI Steering Group at OAK'S LAB comprises our most skilled and passionate people from product, design, engineering, and QA. This group evaluates and experiments with emerging AI technologies, pilots them on select projects, and rolls them out company-wide once they've demonstrated proven, measurable impact.
We're currently piloting end-to-end agentic AI workflows across three projects. Each follows the same high-level software development lifecycle but tests different tools and approaches at every step from ideation through to production. The best-performing solution at each stage is then integrated into our standard development process and rolled out across the company.
Our most recent success has been AI-powered code reviews, resulting in our teams spending less time on manual code reviews and merging fewer technical debt/bugs into the codebase.
