Tech Lead (React Native)

The Role

We focus on building 7-10 high-potential products at a time. On each of our projects, we have a dedicated team that is led by a Tech Lead, a Product Manager, and a Design Lead. Our teams are small and effective and range from 5 to 15 people.

We are searching for a Tech Lead with React Native experience to lead one of our engineering teams in building a new fintech mobile app for one of our clients. This role requires a combination of strong technical and leadership capabilities. You’ll be responsible for managing an engineering team, owning the software architecture, engaging with the business to understand the product needs, and overseeing and executing the technical direction and delivery.

Our team is based in Prague and operates in a hybrid working environment.

Responsibilities

Leadership

• Work closely with the Product Manager and Design Lead to lead the project and help the client achieve its goals through the product we are building

Engineering

• Select and update technologies that are most appropriate for the needs of the client while remaining in line with our standards
• Own the process of setting up and maintaining the hosting infrastructure to handle the scaling needs of the client and configure the relevant environments
• Architect deployments and CI/CD pipelines
• Oversee the overall software architecture

Team

• Manage your engineering team and oversee the quality of their output
• Create and maintain a fun and challenging environment where your engineers are motivated, engaged, growing, and working together in a collaborative way
• Be a hands-on contributor to the project, developing features together with the team

Process

• Assist the Product Manager in discovery refinement, ensuring that epics and user stories in the roadmap are refined, estimated, and prioritized in line with business goals

Skills & Requirements

• 5+ years experience building mobile applications using React Native and Typescript (React is a plus)
• Experience writing Native Modules
• Experience architecting software (for projects from scratch is a plus)
• Ability to make product decisions based on the value it provides to the startup and its users
• Strong leadership capabilities
• Great communication skills
• Good level of English
